A New Year’s Eve Checklist

BATON ROUGE – A new year is soon upon us and it is important that we close out 2012 and start 2013 right by making safety a priority. As people across Louisiana prepare to celebrate New Year’s Eve, a safe and enjoyable evening starts with good planning. Make sure that you take the proper steps to get you and your family and friends home safely.

New Year’s Eve Checklist:
    o Have a plan
o Buckle up and make sure all persons in your vehicle are buckled while on the road

    o Watch LSU Tigers Win
o Enjoy New Year’s Eve festivities with family and friends
o Remember that impairment starts with ONE drink
o Don’t Drive Impaired. Designate a sober driver, call a cab, or stay where you are.
o If you travel on foot or by bicycle, wear bright clothing, be cognizant of traffic and travel safe.
o Start 2013 safe and healthy!

Happy New Year from Colonel Mike Edmonson and the men and women of the Louisiana State Police!
