HEADQUARTERS NEWS RELEASE April 8, 2013 Louisiana State Police to Host “Active for Autism 5K Run/Walk” Baton Rouge – On Saturday, April 13, 2013, Louisiana State Police will partner with Families Helping Families of Greater Baton Rouge and several local businesses in sponsoring the Active for Autism 4th Annual 5K Run/Walk & Fun Fest. The event will be held from 8am – 12pm at Louisiana State Police Headquarters on Independence Blvd. in Baton Rouge, and will benefit the Resource Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders. Louisiana State Police Colonel Michael Edmonson will serve as honorary co-chair of this year’s event. Families Helping Families of Greater Baton Rouge is a non-profit, family directed resource center for individuals with disabilities and their families. It is a place where families can go that is directed and staffed by parents or family members of children with disabilities or adults with disabilities. Troopers would like to take this opportunity to extend an open invitation to the public to come out and enjoy the festivities on Saturday, April 13, from 8 am – 12 pm.
