Department of Public Safety Family Suffers Profound Loss

BATON ROUGE – Colonel Mike Edmonson, Deputy Secretary of the Department of Public Safety and Superintendent of the Louisiana State Police issued the following statement on the death of his dear friend, Dale Hall:

Retired Assistant Superintendent and current Chairman of the State Gaming Control Board, Dale Hall, died peacefully in his sleep shortly after noon today at his home. Dale had been on leave recovering from last month's surgery to remove cancerous tissue in his neck.

Dale was an iconic force in State Police for more than 30 years, and other than his wife and two sons, his love for State Police was unsurpassed. His integrity, his passion, his sense of fairness and overall love of people were cornerstones of his career. He leaves behind a legacy of accomplishments and his service set a high mark for those who would follow.

We lost more than a friend today, we lost a mentor a leader and most of all our brother. Our sense of loss is profound, but we can take some small comfort in knowing that Dale will live on in our hearts and memories. We will honor him daily through our actions.

Please keep Dale, his wife, his two sons and the rest of his family in your prayers. May God grant him eternal rest.... And until we meet again, may He hold him in the palm of his hand. We love you Dale.
