| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE Colonel Michael D. Edmonson, Superintendent Headquarters- NEWS RELEASE Parish Officials Close Highways BATON ROUGE- The Louisiana State Police will be assisting local area officials with the closure of all highways in the parishes of Orleans, Jefferson, St. Bernard and Plaquemines. Parish EOC Directors have made a joint decision to close the roadways due to dangerous debris, flooding, fallen trees and downed power lines. State Police will assist parish officials by closing Interstates 10 and 55 and U.S. 90 through the designated parishes. Officials are asking all residents to stay out of the area until damage assessments are completed and roadways are cleared. No one will be allowed into these areas and will be turned away if they attempt to enter. Citizens are asked to be patient and await notification from parish officials as to when they can return to the area. For more information contact: Sgt. Markus L.
