Edmonson, Superintendent HEADQUARTERS - NEWS RELEASE State Police Annual Retirement and Promotion Ceremony BATON ROUGE – Louisiana State Police is pleased to announce the annual Retirement and Promotional Ceremony to be held in Baton Rouge at the Louisiana State Police Training Academy Auditorium on Thursday, February 12 at 1:00 P.M. We would like to extend an invitation to family, friends, colleagues, and the media to take part in this memorable event. This is our time to honor those men and women who have dedicated their lives to making this state a better place to live. We want to recognize these devoted individuals for their many years of courage, loyalty and selfless service to the State of Louisiana. Among those who will be honored are thirty-three veteran State Troopers, one DPS Officer, and eight civilian employees who have recently retired after many years of dedication to protecting and serving the citizens of this state. Their contributions to this agency and to the citizens of this state have had a hugely positive impact. While we are honoring those troopers who are leaving us, we would also like to recognize the men and women of the Louisiana State Police who are stepping up to take their place as new leaders. Thirty-two Louisiana State Troopers will be formally promoted to new positions as leaders and administrators of our agency. These individuals bring with them many years of experience, training and talent. They are the future of the Louisiana State Police. They will ensure our agency moves forward with its long-standing tradition of professional excellence and service to the citizens of Louisiana.
