Edmonson, Superintendent HEADQUARTERS - NEWS RELEASE August 12, 2009 Port Allen Woman Arrested on Fraud and Forgery BATON ROUGE – Louisiana State Police Criminal Investigators assigned to the Insurance Fraud/Auto Theft Division arrested Connie Johnson (B/F, age 47) of Port Allen yesterday after an in-depth fraud investigation. Detectives began this investigation based on a complaint received from AFLAC Insurance Agency. During the investigation, detectives found from May 2006 through May 2008, Johnson filed thirteen fraudulent claims on the supplemental health insurance policy she had with AFLAC. During this period, she submitted fraudulent claims stating that she had been hospitalized or had received some form of medical treatment. To support her claims, she fabricated medical invoices and forged doctors’ signatures. Johnson was paid directly by AFLAC for the fraudulent claims in the amount of $27,300. Louisiana State Police Investigators obtained an arrest warrant in Iberville Parish charging Johnson with Insurance Fraud (13 counts); Forgery (13 counts); and Felony Theft in the amount of $27,300.
