Operation Innocence Lost Leads to Multiple Arrests

Baton Rouge – Louisiana State Police Detectives in Baton Rouge participated in a multi-agency task force operation focusing on combating domestic prostitution of minors last night. The operation was part of a nationwide initiative emphasizing the recovery of juvenile victims from sexual exploitation and the identification of those responsible for exploiting underage victims. The task force was comprised of members from Louisiana State Police Detectives, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Baton Rouge Police Department, EBR Parish Sheriff’s Office, Attorney General’s Office, LSU Police Department, Department of Social Services, and Baton Rouge Children’s Advocacy Center.

As a result of this operation, one juvenile victim was recovered. Task force members arrested four other individuals and charged them with various statutes pertaining to prostitution:

· 2 charged with LRS 14:82 (Prostitution)
· 2 charged with LRS 14:83 (Soliciting Prostitution)

State Troopers will continue to work in cooperation with local, state, and federal agencies to ensure the safety and well-being of the children of the state of Louisiana. Through initiatives, such as “Operation Innocence Lost” and “Operation Child Watch”, task forces throughout the state will continue to work diligently to get sexual predators off our streets.
