Insurance Agents Arrested on Charges of Insurance Fraud Livingston – Earlier today, Louisiana State Police Detectives working in the Baton Rouge Insurance Fraud/Auto Theft Unit arrested Jordan Touchet (O/M, age 20) and his mother, Christine Touchet (W/F, age 38), both of Baton Rouge, on charges of Insurance Fraud, Theft, and Forgery. The arrests were the result of a month-long investigation into a complaint filed by the Aflac Insurance Company. Christine and Jordan Touchet were licensed insurance producers, working for Aflac. Troopers’ investigation revealed that the Touchets were writing fraudulent policies in order to receive commission payments. Troopers believe that both suspects wrote some of the policies and others were written individually. This took place over the course of approximately one month while the Touchets were living in Denham Springs. Troopers obtained arrest warrants in the 21st Judicial District Court in Livingston Parish for both suspects and then booked them into the Livingston Parish Jail. If found guilty of the charges, the suspects face over five years in prison and more than five thousand dollars in fines. The Insurance Fraud Unit is responsible for investigating referrals of suspected fraudulent insurance acts, assisting federal and local law enforcement in the investigation of fraudulent insurance acts, cooperating with local prosecutors and the attorney general's office in the prosecution of fraudulent insurance acts, and promoting awareness of insurance fraud throughout the state.
