HEADQUARTERS NEWS RELEASE April 3, 2018 Baton Rouge Man Arrested for Possession and Distribution of Child Pornography Baton Rouge – On April 2, 2018, Detectives from the Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit (SVU) and agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigations, arrested 51 year old Steven Everhardt of Baton Rouge for Possession and Distribution of Child Pornography. Beginning in November 2017, LSP Detectives, along with agents from the FBI’s Baton Rouge Field Office, began conducting undercover online investigations to combat human trafficking and the sharing of child pornography. During the course of their investigations, investigators downloaded thousands of videos and images of known child pornography from Everhardt. On March 23, 2018, the LSP SVU and the FBI Baton Rouge Field Office executed a federal search warrant at Everhardt’s Baton Rouge residence. Investigators seized numerous electronic devices from the residence. Following a full forensic examination of the electronic devices seized, investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Everhardt. On April 2, 2018, Everhardt was arrested and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Jail for 900 counts of Possession of Child Pornography and 30 counts of Distribution of Child Pornography (Under Age 13).
