Head-on Collision Claims Life of a Young Woman

GREENWELL SPRINGS- On June 19, 2009, at approximately 11:30 a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop A investigated a two-vehicle head-on collision that claimed the life of young Greenwell Springs woman.

Faith M. Passman (W/F, 18 yrs old) was driving her 2001 Toyota Camry northbound on Greenwell Springs Rd (LA Hwy 37) north of Wax Rd. when, for unknown reasons, she crossed the center line and entered the southbound travel lane. As Passman entered the opposing lane, a southbound 1982 GMC truck, driven by Robert Dornier (W/M, 23 yrs old of Pride), struck Passman’s vehicle head-on. The GMC truck was pulling a livestock trailer at the time of the crash.

Due to damages to her vehicle, Passman had to be extricated from her vehicle by Central Fire Department personnel. Baton Rouge EMS transported her to Ochsner Medical Center where she was pronounced dead upon her arrival due to injuries she sustained during the crash. Dornier and two passengers in his vehicle, Samantha Guzzardo (W/F. 20 yrs old) and Mike Cox (W/M, 57 yrs old), were all transported to Our Lady of the Lake hospital for moderate injuries they sustained in the crash. Seatbelt use by occupants in either vehicle is unknown. Alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in this crash, however blood was drawn from both drivers and will be submitted to the State Police Crime Lab for chemical analysis.
