HEADQUARTERS NEWS RELEASE January 30, 2018 West Feliciana Parish Animal Control Officer Arrested for Abuse of Office St. Francisville – In December of 2017, Investigators from the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations were requested by the West Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office to conduct an investigation involving possible abuse of office by one of their employees. The investigation resulted in the arrest of 57 year old Daniel Klein Jr. of St. Francisville. The initial investigation revealed that Klein was employed by the West Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office as the Parish Animal Control Officer and was receiving payment for performing animal control duties in the parish. LSP investigators learn that on multiple occasions, Klein had charged a client for performing animal control services while being paid by the West Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office. As a result of the investigation, LSP Investigators obtained an arrest warrant for 4 counts of Abuse of Office and Malfeasance in Office. On January 29, 2018, Klein turned himself in to LSP Investigators and was booked into the West Feliciana Parish Jail. Contact Information: | |||
