| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE Colonel Michael D. Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP A - NEWS RELEASE Operation Troop ‘A’ssist Continues BATON ROUGE – Louisiana State Police Troop A continues to get feedback from the motoring public on the website for Operation Troop ‘A’ssist. The focus of the next operation will be the intersection of LA 42 and US 61 in East Baton Rouge Parish and on US 61 from that intersection south to the Ascension Parish line. We have fielded numerous complaints of speeding on Airline Highway in that area and improper turning at that intersection. Throughout the next week, Troopers will focus additional patrols and traffic enforcement in this area. “The focus of these operations is not just to go out and write a large number of citations,” said Captain Frank Ducote, Troop A Commander. “We want to change driving behaviors and improve dangerous conditions,” he added. Upon completion of next week’s operation, the results of the enforcement efforts will be posted on the Louisiana State Police Troop A web page, at www.lsp.org/troopa.html, where it can be viewed by anyone interested. The email address for Troop A is lspa@dps.la.gov. There is also a link for this email on the Troop A web page.
