Louisiana State Police Prepares to Graduate Fifty-Eight New Troopers

Baton Rouge, LA – The Louisiana State Police Training Academy is proud to announce the graduation of State Police Cadet Class #93. Graduation ceremonies will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 10, 2015 at the BREC Independence Park Theater and Cultural Center located at 7800 Independence Boulevard in Baton Rouge.

Seventy-two cadets from across the state began the rigorous Louisiana State Police Training Academy on November 30th last year. During the 19 week long academy, cadets received training in various subjects including crash investigation, emergency vehicle operations, impaired driving detection, traffic incident management, and leadership. Fifty-eight of those cadets will graduate to become Troopers and begin their careers of dedication, protection, and service to the citizens of Louisiana.

“The graduates of LSP Cadet Class #93 have endured tremendous challenges and personal sacrifices throughout their time in the LSP Training Academy,” said Colonel Mike Edmonson, State Police Superintendent. “The badge they will soon earn is a testament to the hard work and dedication they have put forth towards becoming Louisiana State Troopers. Whereas their time in the academy is over, the careers of these men and women are only beginning as they embark on their mission to serve the citizens of Louisiana as uniform patrol troopers. As representatives of this department, they will be held to the highest standards of honor, integrity, respect and service as they continue the proud tradition of the Louisiana State Police.”
