HEADQUARTERS - NEWS RELEASE November 11, 2015 LSP Detectives Arrest Vacherie Man for Prescription Fraud Convent, LA – On November 11, 2015, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Region 1 Narcotics arrested 26 year old Tyler Jasmin of Vacherie, LA for numerous counts of Obtaining a Controlled Dangerous Substance by Fraud, Altering a Prescription, and Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. On October 19, 2015, Troopers received a complaint stating that Jasmin was attempting to fill a prescription that had previously been filled at another pharmacy. LSP Detectives conducted an investigation into this complaint and learned that Jasmin filled the same prescription for 16 Hydrocodone Bitartrate & Acetaminophen tablets at seven different pharmacies in St. James and St. John the Baptist Parish on August 22, 2015. On October 8, 2015, Jasmin used another prescription for 16 Hydrocodone Bitartrate & Acetaminophen tablets at two different pharmacies in St. James Parish. Through further investigation, LSP Detectives confirmed that Jasmin fraudulently presented copies of his original prescription to numerous pharmacies in order to obtain additional narcotics. On November 11, 2015, LSP Detectives obtained a warrant and arrested Jasmin. Jasmin was booked into the St. James Parish Prison for Obtaining a Control Dangerous Substance by Fraud (4 Counts), Altering a Prescription (4 Counts), and Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (4 Counts).
