Baton Rouge Man Arrested After Short Pursuit

BATON ROUGE – A Baton Rouge man was arrested yesterday after refusing to stop for a Louisiana State Trooper. Ronald Glenn (B/M, age 23) of Baton Rouge was driving a 1999 Infiniti I-30 on Veterans Memorial Boulevard, turning onto LA 408, when a State Trooper noticed he was not wearing a seat belt. The Trooper initiated a traffic stop by activating his lights and siren and pulling in behind the vehicle. Glenn sped up slightly, turned into a neighborhood, and continued driving until he arrived at his residence at 7551 Somerset. Glenn pulled into the driveway and locked himself inside the vehicle. By this time, Baton Rouge City Police Officers arrived on the scene to assist the Trooper.

The Trooper and BRPD Officers ordered Glenn to exit the vehicle several times. He was on his cellular phone while in the vehicle and he appeared to be reaching for something on the passenger side of the vehicle. Officers broke the driver’s side window and then successfully deployed a Taser X26. State Police took Glenn into custody without further incident or injuries. There was a black semi-automatic BB pistol located on the passenger side floorboard of the car. It was later learned that Glenn was speaking with a 911 operator while the Trooper and Officers were attempting to get him out of the vehicle. State Police booked Glenn into the East Baton Rouge Parish Jail and charged him with resisting arrest, not wearing a seat belt, driving with a suspended license, and expired license plate.
