Visitation on Friday, August 28 will take place from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Lake Charles Civic Center Rosa Heart Theater located at 900 Lakeshore Drive in Lake Charles. The location and times for visitation and the funeral service on Saturday, August 29 remain unchanged. HEADQUARTERS NEWS RELEASE August 25, 2015 Fallen LSP Trooper to be Honored This Week LAKE CHARLES, LA – Following the tragic line of duty death of 44-year-old Louisiana State Police veteran Senior Trooper Steven Vincent, funeral and memorial service arrangements have been finalized as follows: -A memorial service will take place in Trooper Vincent’s home town of Iowa this evening at 6:30 p.m. at the Iowa High School Football Stadium located at 401 W Miller Ave, Iowa, LA 70647. The family will be in attendance. There will be candles and a balloon release. Members of law enforcement agencies and other first responders are asked to wear their uniforms and will be asked to sit in a place of honor on the football field. -Visitation for Senior Trooper Steven Vincent will be held on Friday, August 28, 2015, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday, August 29, 2015, from 08:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Johnson Funeral Home located at 4321 Lake Street, Lake Charles, LA 70605. -The funeral will take place on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church located at 3939 Lake Street, Lake Charles, LA 70605 with burial to follow at the Lacassine Cemetery on Ann Street at US Highway 90 (East of LA 101) Lacassine, LA. Senior Trooper Steven Vincent succumbed to his injuries yesterday morning after he was shot by a suspect during the course of a traffic incident this past Sunday afternoon. Trooper Vincent is survived by his wife Katherine, 9-year-old son Ethan, his brothers, Louisiana State Police Trooper Terrell Vincent and Town of Iowa Police Chief Keith Vincent, as well as a large extended family. The Vincent family and Troopers from across the state have been touched by the incredible outpouring of support received from across the nation and across the world. Whereas many local fundraising efforts are being conducted by legitimate organizations, Troopers urge the public to be cautious when making monetary donations to unfamiliar sources. Currently, the most secure and easiest methods to provide assistance to the Vincent family are through the Louisiana Troopers Charities or Capital One Bank.
