HEADQUARTERS NEWS RELEASE July 23, 2014 Joint-Agency Investigation Results In Arrest Troopers assigned to the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations, in a joint effort, arrested Trina Bourg of Houma yesterday on Federal and State charges. Since May, 2014, the Louisiana State Police-Criminal Investigations Division, US Department of Homeland Security, and the Homeland Security Investigations (HSI - Houma) conducted an investigation into a Spanish language interpreter employed by the Terrebonne Parish Office of the Public Defender, who used her position to solicit payments from defendants that were illegally present in the United States. Trina Bourg portrayed to the victims she would use the money she received from them to bribe United States Immigration Officials in an effort to remove the immigration detainers and/or federal immigration charges from the victims’ criminal or administrative cases. The total amount extorted is unknown due to the discovery of additional victims. On July 22, 2014, Louisiana State Police Detectives arrested Bourg at HSI - Houma on active warrants. Bourg was then handed over to Federal Agents and transported to the Nelson Coleman Corrections Center (Federal Tier) in St. Charles Parish where she was booked without incident for her federal charges.
