HEADQUARTERS NEWS RELEASE December 16, 2014 LSP Detectives Arrest Port Allen Man for Attempting to Solicit Murder Port Allen – On December 16, 2014, Louisiana State Police Detectives along with several other agencies arrested a Port Allen man after they learned that he was attempting to solicit murder. The arrest came after an individual informed the West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office that a man approached him earlier this week and asked him to kill two people in Pointe Coupee Parish. Immediately upon learning of the murder solicitation, LSP Detectives began conducting undercover telephone calls to the suspect. After gaining sufficient information relating to the murder solicitation, Detectives obtained an arrest warrant through the 18th Judicial District Court charging Tommy Joe Gioele (W/M, DOB 8/7/1977) of Port Allen with LRS 14:28.1 – Solicitation of murder (2 counts). Gioele was located at his residence in Port Allen early on the morning of December 16th and placed under arrest without incident. He was transported to and booked into the West Baton Rouge Parish jail on the above listed charges. LSP Detectives worked closely with the LSP SWAT team, the West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Pointe Coupee Parish Sheriff’s office during the course of this investigation.
