Through the investigation, Detectives were able to determine that Braelin D. Whitfield (B/M, DOB 12/12/1995) was the individual responsible for the theft of 28 guns. Jackson Louisiana State Police Detectives, the East Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) are asking for assistance from the public in helping to locate an individual responsible for the burglary of a sporting goods store which occurred in East Feliciana Parish.

Early in the morning of September 10, 2014, an unidentified man broke into the Thompson Creek Sporting Goods store located on LA Hwy 10 in Jackson. The suspect was seen on surveillance footage placing several guns into a bag. The suspect left the store for a brief period, then returned and loaded several more guns into the bag before leaving again.

The attached surveillance video and photos show the suspect as he is walking through the sporting goods store. He is described as a light skinned black male with a thin build and approximately 6 feet tall. The suspect has a tattoo on his left outside forearm (possibly writing in the shape of a cross), one on his right inside forearm, and one on his right bicep (possibly cursive writing). At the time of the burglary he was wearing a tank top with “LOVE” printed on the front, a necklace with a cross on it, a “boonie” hat, a dark wristwatch on his left arm, and what appears to be “Mechanix Wear” gloves.
