Baton Rouge Man Arrested for Possessing Child Pornography

Baton Rouge – On January 20, 2017, Investigators from the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations - Special Victims Unit arrested a Baton Rouge man after they learned that he was in possession of child pornography in East Baton Rouge Parish. Investigators arrested 32 year old Timothy J. Carriere for charges related to the possession of images of child pornography.

Today’s arrest came after Investigators were granted permission by Carriere to search his residence in Baton Rouge. The search was the result of an investigation that yielded information relating to the possession of images indicative of child pornography. As a result of the search, several images indicative of child pornography were located on a computer belonging to Carriere.

Carriere was placed under arrest and charged with 7 counts of LRS 14:81.1 –Pornography involving juveniles. He was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish jail on the above charges.

The LSP Special Victims Unit, comprised of Troopers and Investigators who work in partnership with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies, was created by Colonel Edmonson to combat child exploitation and investigate child and adult sex trafficking and labor trafficking across Louisiana.
