Livingston Parish Man Arrested for Possessing Child Pornography

Livingston Parish – On May 24, 2017, Investigators from the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations - Special Victims Unit arrested a Livingston Parish man after they learned that he was in possession of child pornography in Livingston Parish. Investigators arrested 47 year old Leonard Hulsey for charges related to the distribution of images of child pornography.

Today’s arrest came after Investigators executed a search warrant at a residence on Bay Paul Road in Livingston, LA. The search was the result of an investigation relating to the possession and distribution of images indicative of child pornography. As a result of the search on Bay Paul Road, a suspect was identified and believed to be at a hotel in Denham Springs. Investigators located the suspect, Hulsey, at the Americas Best Value Inn in Denham Springs. Upon being interviewed, Hulsey admitted to downloading and storing images of child pornography at a residence in Maurepas. Investigators went to the Maurepas residence where they located images indicative of child pornography on a device belonging to Hulsey.

Hulsey was placed under arrest and charged with 5 counts of distribution of child pornography. He was booked into the Livingston Parish jail on the above charges. This case remains under investigation, and further charges may be pending. The Louisiana Bureau of Investigation, Homeland Security Investigations, Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office, and Federal Bureau of Investigation assisted in this case.
