HEADQUARTERS NEWS RELEASE August 9, 2016 Louisiana State Police Prepares for Cadet Class #95 Baton Rouge, LA - On November 6th, 2016, the next step in the journey for a dedicated group of men and women will begin at the Louisiana State Police Training Academy. On this date, these aspiring Louisiana State Troopers will officially become State Police Cadets reporting to the Louisiana State Police Training Academy to begin an extensive training regimen. Candidates for LSP Cadet Class #95 are currently in the final stages of a thorough and competitive hiring process.
During the roughly 22 week long academy, cadets will receive training in various subjects including crash investigation, emergency vehicle operations, impaired driving detection, traffic incident management, cultural diversity and leadership skills. Upon successful completion of the LSP Training Academy, the newly graduated Troopers will participate in a 10-14 week field training program before beginning their careers of dedication, protection, and service to the citizens of Louisiana.
“I couldn’t be any prouder of these fine Louisianans who have chosen to continue their deep commitment to protect and serve the public by embarking on the next step in their law enforcement career,” said Governor John Bel Edwards. “The LSP Training Academy is a top notch institution and I am certain that the 95th Cadet Class will be trained and readied by the finest curriculum and staff this nation has to offer. I look forward to their graduation and deeply appreciate the sacrifice they will continue to make every day to keep our communities safe.”
