TROOP G - NEWS RELEASE November 5, 2012 Fatal crash in Bossier Parish On November 5, 2012, shortly after 7:30 a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop G investigated a two vehicle crash on LA Highway 3 at the intersection of Vanceville road in Bossier Parish that claimed the life of a Bossier City woman. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2008 Toyota pickup driven by 76-year-old Clifford Anderson of Bossier City was traveling west on Vanceville road at the intersection of LA Highway 3. Anderson failed to obey the stop sign at LA Highway 3 and proceeded to cross both of the north bound lanes. Anderson’s vehicle was struck from the side by a north bound 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by 17-year-old Marion Markay of Bossier City. The passenger in the Toyota, 72-year-old Jacquelyn Anderson of Bossier City received life threatening injuries from the crash and was transported to a local hospital where she later died. Toxicology samples were obtained and submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation. Troopers urge motorists to remain vigilant while driving and remember that crashes are unexpected events. By taking precautionary steps including never driving while distracted or impaired and always obeying the laws of the road, motorists can substantially reduce their risk of being involved in a crash.
