TROOP G - NEWS RELEASE October 22, 2012 Fatal crash in Bossier Parish On October 21, 2012, shortly before 9:00 pm, Louisiana State Police Troop G investigated a one vehicle crash on LA Highway 3 in Bossier Parish that claimed the life of a Benton woman. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2008 Cadillac Escalade driven by 63-year-old Sydney Biedenharn of Benton was traveling south on LA Highway 3 when, for reasons still under investigation, the vehicle exited the right side of the roadway and struck a tree. Biedenharn sustained life threatening injuries during the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Bossier Parish Coroner. Toxicology samples were obtained and submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation. Troopers urge motorists to remain vigilant while driving and remember that crashes are unexpected events. By taking precautionary steps including never driving while distracted or impaired and always obeying the laws of the road, motorists can substantially reduce their risk of being involved in a crash.
