| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE Colonel Michael D. Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP G - NEWS RELEASE January 11, 2013 State Police Operational Update from Camp Minden MINDEN - The Louisiana State Police Emergency Services Unit has made substantial progress in relocating improperly stored materials owned by Explo Systems to appropriate storage magazines at Camp Minden. Qualified Explo Systems’ employees, working under the direct supervision of Louisiana State Police Emergency Services Technicians, have segregated and properly stored approximately 6 million pounds of materials in appropriate storage magazines. There have been no unexpected problems, incidents, or injuries incurred during this operation. The Louisiana National Guard has been instrumental in making additional magazine storage space available for the materials; however, the additional space has been exhausted. Although the company continues to ship commercial-ready materials to create more magazine space, the lack of readily available space is now delaying operational progress. Louisiana State Police Emergency Services Technicians continue to assess the site to determine the amount of improperly stored materials remaining and the amount of storage space needed. The ongoing operation continues to pose no threat to the community. | |||
