TROOP G - NEWS RELEASE December 7, 2012 Camp Minden – Explo Update Efforts today by Louisiana State Police Emergency Services personnel and Explo Systems employees centered on further segregating improperly stored propellant in order to assure the safety of those living in the area surrounding Camp Minden. No propellant was removed today. Operations concluded shortly before noon and are scheduled to resume on Monday, December 10, 2012. The seven day operations total for the removal and safe storage of propellant is approximately 2.2 million pounds. The evacuation order for the area surrounding Camp Minden was lifted today at noon. Restrictions for parts of Camp Minden will remain in effect until the operation is concluded. The Louisiana State Police, Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office, Webster Parish Office of Homeland Security, and Doyline Police Department would like to thank area residents for their patience and understanding as we work to ensure the public’s safety. Reminder: The Webster Parish Clerk of Court would like to remind voters who normally vote at Doyline High School that the polling location for tomorrow’s election has been relocated to Westlake Baptist Church.
