| TROOP G - NEWS RELEASE November 30, 2011 Former Red River Parish Police Juror Arrested A former Red River Parish Police Juror has been arrested by state police detectives for malfeasance in office and abuse of office. In June 2011, the Red River Parish District Attorney requested that Louisiana State Police Region 2 Detectives investigate allegations that a Red River Parish Police Juror, Billy Joe Gay of Hall Summit, had utilized police jury resources for work done on private property. An investigation was initiated and detectives learned that in 2010 Gay had directed and allowed on-duty police jury employees to use police jury equipment to deliver and install parish owned culverts, dirt and foundation rock to improve his personal property. On November 28, 2011, a Red River Parish Grand Jury indicted Gay for one (1) count each of malfeasance in office and abuse of office. On November 29, 2011 Gay surrendered to LSP Detectives and the Red River Parish Jail where he was booked and incarcerated. Billy Joe Gay resigned from the police juror position in August 2011.
