Last night, a single vehicle crash seriously injured a man from Shongaloo, LA.

Troopers responded to the crash around 8:10 pm, which occurred on LA Hwy 157 at Vonn Davis Road. The crash involved a 2005 Chevrolet pickup, driven by Drayton D. Modisett (W/M 73 yrs). The Chevrolet was east bound on LA Hwy 157 when it collided with a large tree that had fallen across the roadway.

Drayton Modisett was not wearing his seatbelt and received serious injuries. His only passenger, identified as Jan Modisett (W/F 65 yrs) of Shongaloo, LA, received moderate injuries. She was wearing her seatbelt. Both were transported to LSU Medical Center in Shreveport.

Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation.

Louisiana State Police would like to take this opportunity to remind/inform motorists that properly wearing your seatbelt will dramatically reduce your chance of being injured or killed in a crash. We ask you to take one second to “buckle up!”
