| TROOP G - NEWS RELEASE March 30, 2013 Head-on Collision Claims The Life of a Coushatta Man On March 30, 2013, shortly before 2:00 p.m., Louisiana State Police Troop G investigated a two vehicle crash on LA Highway 784 about 4 miles east of US Highway 71 in Red River Parish that claimed the life of a Coushatta man. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2010 Dodge Avenger driven by 70-year-old Daniel Cotton of Coushatta was traveling east on LA 784 when his vehicle crossed the center line and hit a 2001 Ford Explorer driven by 17-year-old Caidon J. Campbell head-on. After impact, both vehicles came to rest in the roadway blocking both lanes of travel. Cotton was restrained at the time of the crash and sustained fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Red River Parish Coroner. Caidon Campbell and his 15-year-old passenger were both restrained at the time of the crash and sustained minor injuries. | |||
