TROOP A NEWS RELEASE Troopers Arrest Man for Causing Second Fatal Crash in Less than Four Months St. Francisville – Shortly before 12:30 pm on July 15, 2019, Louisiana State Police Troop A began investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian on LA Hwy 10 east of US Hwy 61 in West Feliciana Parish. The crash took the life of 50-year-old Ricky J. Pourciau of St. Francisville, and resulted in the arrest of 60-year-old Salvatore Euggino of Ethel. The initial investigation revealed that the crash occurred as Euggino was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado westbound on LA Hwy 10. At the same time, Pourciau was walking westbound on the west shoulder of LA Hwy 10. Pourciau was struck by Euggino’s Silverado and sustained fatal injuries as a result. After striking Pourciau, Euggino fled the scene. With the assistance of the West Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office, he was later located at a local business. Troopers ruled out alcohol impairment for Euggino; however, a blood sample was obtained to detect the possible presence of narcotics, the results of which are pending. Troopers arrested Euggino for LRS 14:32 Negligent Homicide, LRS 14:100 Hit and Run Driving (felony), and LRS 32:58 Careless Operation. He was booked into the West Feliciana Parish Detention Center. This crash remains under investigation, and there is no further information at this time. This is the second time in less than four months that Troopers have arrested Euggino for negligent homicide. He was previously arrested on March 26, 2019 in East Feliciana Parish when he crossed over a no-passing centerline. As a result, his vehicle struck another driven by 34-year-old Marshaun Robertson of Ethel, resulting in his death. Contact Information: | |||
