TROOP G - NEWS RELEASE December 16, 2014 Troopers Recover Multiple Stolen Vehicles and a Stolen Trailer Bossier Parish-On December 16, 2014, at 10:22 a.m. Troop G Troopers stopped a 2003 Chevrolet Blazer driven by 35-year-old Michael Lawson of Shreveport on Interstate 20 in Haughton after learning that the vehicle had been reported stolen in White Oak, TX. Upon making the stop Troopers made contact with Lawson and he was arrested. After the vehicle was recovered, Lawson was transported to the Bossier Parish Jail where he was booked for illegal possession of stolen things. At 12:22 p.m., Troopers attempted to stop a 2004 Toyota Camry driven by 31-year-old Joshua Brown of Longview, TX, on Traffic Street in Bossier City, after the vehicle had been reported stolen in Longview. Brown then fled onto Interstate 20 west bound into Caddo Parish, where he later exited south onto Interstate 49. After Brown exited, he fled south on Interstate 49 to the Pierremont Road exit and while attempting to elude Troopers he crashed into another vehicle on the exit ramp. After the crash, Brown attempted to flee on foot, but was immediately captured. During the investigation, Troopers also discovered that Brown was in possession of marijuana. Brown was transported to the Caddo Correctional Center and booked for illegal possession of stolen things, negligent injuring, aggravated flight, hit & run, resisting an officer by flight, and simple possession of marijuana. At 3:02 p.m., Troopers stopped a 2005 Freight Liner driven by 45-year-old Christopher Morris of Merigold, MS, on Interstate 20 near Industrial Drive after learning that the 1999 Timpte Trailer that it was pulling had been reported stolen in Cleveland, MS. Upon making the stop, Troopers confirmed that the trailer was stolen and Morris was arrested. After the stolen trailer was recovered, Morris was transported to the Bossier Parish Jail and booked for illegal possession of stolen things. Troopers will continue proactive patrol efforts day in and day out so that we can locate and remove these criminals from our streets.
