TROOP G - NEWS RELEASE December 15, 2014 Crash Claims the Life of Minden Man Webster Parish-On December 15, 2014, at 3:37 p.m., Louisiana State Police Troop G responded to a report of a single vehicle crash on US Highway 371 south of Sibley that claimed the life of a Minden man. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 1997 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 51-year-old Anthony Tellis of Minden was traveling north on US 371, when it crossed the center line, exited the roadway, and crashed into a group of trees. Tellis was pronounced dead at the scene by the Webster Parish Coroner. A toxicology sample was obtained from Tellis and will be submitted for analysis. Impairment is not suspected to be a factor in the crash. This crash remains under investigation. Troopers want to take this time to remind motorists that fatigued drivers and drivers experiencing unexpected medical problems are three times more likely to be involved in a crash. By taking preventative measures such as stopping for rest or seeking medical attention for an unexpected illness can drastically decrease your chances of being involved in a crash.
