TROOP G - NEWS RELEASE November 28, 2014 Motorcycle Crash Claims the Life of A Shreveport Man Claiborne Parish- On November 28, 2014, at 3:20 p.m., Louisiana State Police Troop G responded to a three vehicle crash involving a motorcycle on US Highway 79 about six miles south of Homer in Claiborne Parish that claimed the life of a Shreveport man. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2007 Honda motorcycle driven by 31-year-old Cody Bridges of Shreveport was traveling north on US 79, when for reasons still under investigation, he crossed the center line and side swiped a 1997 Ford F-150 driven by 60-year-old Edward Davidson of Minden that was traveling south. After side swiping the Ford F-150, the motorcycle continued north and collided head-on with a south bound 2005 Chevrolet Z-71 driven by 24-year-old Tyler Clark of Bossier City. The impact ejected Bridges causing fatal injuries. Both Clark and Davidson were properly restrained at the time of the crash and were not injured. Bridges was pronounced dead at the scene by the Claiborne Parish Coroner. Impairment is suspected to be a factor in this crash. Toxicology samples were obtained and submitted for analysis. The crash remains under investigation. Each year, on Louisiana’s highways, numerous people are killed or seriously injured in automobile crashes that involve impaired drivers. In 2013, 47% of the fatal crashes in Troop G involved impaired drivers. Motorists are asked to designate a sober driver before traveling to any place were alcohol will be consumed. Drive sober or get pulled over. Contact Information: | |||
