TROOP G - NEWS RELEASE November 24, 2014 Webster Parish Crash Claims Life of Arkansas Man Webster Parish-On November 24, 2014, at 4:20 a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop G responded to a report of a single vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 159, just north of Minden that claimed the life of an Emerson man. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2013 Ford F-250 driven by 33-year-old John Lee Waller of Emerson, AR was traveling south on LA HWY 159 when for unknown reasons his vehicle veered off the right side of roadway and crashed. Waller, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Webster Parish Coroner. A toxicology sample was obtained from Waller and will be submitted for analysis. The crash remains under investigation. Louisiana law requires motor vehicle occupants to be properly restrained in every seating position, day and night. Wearing a seatbelt significantly reduces the likelihood of being seriously injured or killed as the result of a crash and is the single most effective thing motorists can do to protect themselves.
