TROOP G NEWS RELEASE August 6, 2013
The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2004 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by 51-year-old Reda Bullock of Jonesboro, was traveling east on Louisiana Highway 784 when it drove off the right side of the road, overcorrected, traveled back across both lanes and exited the left side of the road. The Malibu then drove into a ditch, overturned and struck a tree. Bullock was not restrained and was partially ejected. Bullock suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Red River Parish Coroner’s office. Alcohol use is not suspected. A toxicology sample was taken and submitted for analysis. The crash remains under investigation. Wearing a seatbelt is the single most effective thing motorists can do to protect themselves from injury or death in the event of a crash. Louisiana state law requires vehicle occupants in all seating positions to be properly restrained, day and night. Buckle up Louisiana. Every trip. Every time.
