TROOP G NEWS RELEASE April 17, 2013 Serious Injury ATV Crash In Bossier Parish On April 17, 2013, at 11:00 a.m., Troopers assigned to Louisiana State Police Troop G responded to a two vehicle serious injury crash on Wallace Road south of Louisiana Highway 537. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2007 Honda ATV, driven by 31-year-old Marlon Oliver of Plain Dealing, was traveling south on Wallace Road when it entered a curve and crossed into the northbound lane directly into the path of a 2006 Dodge truck, driven by 29-year-old Brent Roberson of Waldo, Arkansas. The Honda struck the front right corner of the Dodge. Oliver was ejected and was transported to a hospital in Bossier City with moderate injuries. The passenger on the Honda, 18-year-old Ronnie Lefear of Plain Dealing, was ejected and air lifted to a hospital in Shreveport. Oliver and Lefear were not wearing helmets. Roberson was properly restrained and did not report any injuries. Alcohol use is not suspected. Routine toxicology samples were obtained and will be submitted for analysis. Oliver was cited with driving left of center and an ATV on a roadway. The crash remains under investigation. The Louisiana State Police would like to encourage everyone that rides an ATV to always wear the proper safety equipment, travel at safe speeds and only ride on designated trails. It is dangerous and illegal to operate off road vehicles (i.e. three wheelers, four wheelers, and other all terrain vehicles) on any public roadways in this state.
