TROOP G NEWS RELEASE April 17, 2013 Fatal Crash In Webster Parish On April 17, 2013, at 8:32 a.m., Troopers assigned to Louisiana State Police Troop G responded to a single vehicle fatal crash on U.S. Highway 371 north of Louisiana Highway 2. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 1995 Chevrolet Suburban, driven by 55-year-old Annette Drew of Cullen, was traveling south on U.S. Highway 371 when for unknown reasons it traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck an oak tree in the front yard of a residence. Drew was properly restrained and was air lifted to a hospital in Shreveport with critical injuries. The passenger, 78-year-old Carzella White of Springhill, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Webster Parish Coroner’s Office. Alcohol use is not suspected. A routine toxicology sample was obtained from Drew and will be submitted for analysis. The crash remains under investigation.
