Traffic Stop Leads to Discovery of Over 18 Pounds of Marijuana

Bienville Parish, LA- This morning, a State Trooper assigned to Louisiana State Police Troop G stopped a 2013 Dodge Charger for a traffic violation on Interstate 20 Eastbound about 6 miles west of Arcadia in Bienville Parish which led to the discovery of marijuana in the vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle, 26-year-old Christopher L. Taylor of Columbia, South Carolina, gave consent to search the vehicle he was driving. During a search of the vehicle, Troopers located approximately 18 1/2 pounds of hydroponic marijuana hidden in the vehicle with an estimated street value of $55,000.

Taylor was placed under arrest and charged with improper lane usage, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, and conspiracy to distribute marijuana.

A passenger in the vehicle Taylor was driving, 25-year-old Jirek R. Mack of Cayce, South Carolina, was also placed under arrest and charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, and conspiracy to distribute marijuana.

Both subjects were booked into the Bienville Parish Jail. Bond on Taylor was set at $61,000. Bond on Mack was set at $60,000.

If convicted, both subjects face from 5 to 45 years in prison and a fine of up to $75,000.
