TROOP G NEWS RELEASE February 12, 2014 Vivian Used Car Dealer Arrested Last year, Troopers assigned to the Louisiana State Police Towing and Recovery Unit along with the Office of Motor Vehicles Special Plate Division received multiple complaints regarding alleged illegal activity at Curry’s Used Car Lot and Storage Facility located in the town of Vivian in Caddo Parish. An investigation was initiated into the facility and the owner, 63-year-old Sam Curry of Vivian. The investigation revealed Curry committed criminal acts relating to illegally selling cars without adhering to state mandated protocols and laws. Troopers obtained a warrant for Curry’s arrest. On February 06, 2014, Curry was arrested and was charged with two (2) counts of auto theft and one (1) count of misuse of a dealer plate. He was booked into the Caddo Parish Correctional Center. If convicted of all charges, Curry faces up to twenty (20) years in prison and up to $6,000 in fines. This is an ongoing criminal investigation and additional charges are possible.
