This afternoon at about 3:00 PM, troopers began the investigation of a single vehicle crash that killed a Minden man. The crash occurred in Webster Parish when the driver lost control while traveling southbound on U.S. Hwy. 79. The driver left the roadway to the right, overturned and struck a tree, partially ejecting the unrestrained driver. The driver, identified as Scott Yates of Minden, was pronounced dead at the scene, by the Webster Parish Asst. Coroner, as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. Impairment is unknown at this time. The investigation is continuing.

To this date, Troop G has investigated eight (8) fatal crashes resulting in the death of ten (10) people for the year 2009.
