TROOP A NEWS RELEASE Ethel Man Arrested in Fatal Head-On Crash Jackson – Shortly before 10:00 am on March 26, 2019, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop A began investigating a two vehicle fatal crash on LA Hwy 10 west of LA Hwy 19 in East Feliciana Parish. The crash took the life of 34-year-old Marshaun Robertson and resulted in the arrest of 60-year-old Salvatore Euggino, both of Ethel. The initial investigation by State Police revealed that the crash occurred as Euggino was traveling eastbound on LA Hwy 10 in a 2001 GMC Sierra. At the same time, Robertson was traveling westbound on LA Hwy 10 in a 2018 Mitsubishi Mirage. For reasons still under investigation, Euggino crossed a no passing centerline and struck Roberston head-on. Despite the fact that he was properly restrained, Robertson sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash. He was pronounced deceased on scene by the East Feliciana Parish Coroner’s Office. Although impairment is not suspected by Robertson, an autopsy and toxicology report will be completed by the coroner’s office. Euggino was properly restrained and was not injured. He was given a chemical breath test and showed no signs of impairment. After the chemical breath test, Troopers arrested and booked Euggino into the East Feliciana Parish Prison for violating LRS 14:32 Negligent Homicide and LRS 32:77 No Passing Zones. This crash remains under investigation. Motorists should always be cognizant of their surroundings and obey posted traffic control signs. Making good choices while in motor vehicles such as never driving while impaired, always ensuring every occupant is properly restrained, and obeying all traffic laws can often mean the difference between life and death.
