Arkansas and Louisiana Troopers Recover Fugitive Mayor

Louisiana and Arkansas troopers coordinated an arrest at a local casino to recover fugitive Arkansas mayor, Yvonne Dockery for alleged payroll fraud.
On February 25, 2009, Troopers with the Gaming Operations Section, Shreveport Field Office were contacted by Arkansas State Police requesting his assistance in locating a wanted person believed to be hiding out in the Shreveport/Bossier area. The wanted person was identified as Yvonne Dockery who is wanted for Theft by Payroll fraud. The alleged theft was committed by Dockery while acting in her capacity as the Mayor of Garland, Arkansas. After notifying local casinos to be on the lookout for Dockery, troopers were contacted by an employee of Eldorado Casino who advised Dockery was at their casino. Troopers then responded to Eldorado Casino, positively identified Dockery, and made the arrest. Dockery was transported to the Caddo Correctional Center and released into the custody of the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office. Arkansas State Police are arranging for her extradition back to Arkansas. Additional charges are pending.
