Troopers Match Media in Polar Plungers

Over the last couple of weeks troopers and local media have been coordinating with some very special people to see that their fundraising event is a success.

The Polar Plunge is an event that trades a money donation for the opportunity to jump into a large tank of water and ice…. The appeal is more than just what is suggested in the name. Each business, individual, agency or club that takes part in this stunt does more than raise money to support the Special Olympics

of Louisiana, they become part of the reason we celebrate this great organizations mission, its families and its participants at this years Special Olympics.

Troop G and the Louisiana State Troopers Association has pledged to provide an equal number of troopers as media to take the Polar Plunge. Please follow us in laying down your own challenge to some of your business or agency partners. The “plunge” is this Saturday, March 7 at 10:00 a.m. at the Bass Pro Shop located inside the Louisiana Boardwalk in Bossier City. Event registration begins at 9:00 a.m. Early registration for the Polar Plunge can also be completed online at www.laso.org. Additional information regarding ways the public can support the Louisiana Special Olympics can be found at this website.
