This Morning troopers began the investigation of a two vehicle head-on crash just east of Mansfield that killed a Texas man.

At about 7:45 this morning 37 year old Casey Hogan of Zavalla, Texas, was travelling east on US 84 when he entered the westbound lane striking a westbound vehicle head-on. Mr. Hogan was transported to Desoto Regional Hospital in Mansfield where he later died.

The westbound driver, 23 year old Auset Zulu of Natchitoches, Louisiana, was airlifted to LSU Hospital in Shreveport where she is listed in critical condition. Seat belts were used, and alcohol not suspected.

To this date, Troop G has investigated four (4) fatal crashes resulting in the death of six (6) people for the year 2009.
