Edmonson, Superintendent News Release February 14, 2009 Marijuana Enroute to Florida This morning at about 10:00 AM, a trooper patrolling Bossier Parish stopped a Vehicle for a traffic violation. The subjects claimed to be enroute from Dallas, Texas, to Panama City, Florida. The driver and passenger had extensive criminal histories and gave conflicting stories of their travel. Circumstances at the scene caused troopers to allow their canine to walk around the exterior of the vehicle. The Canine alerted to the positive odor of narcotics in the vehicle and with in moments troopers recovered approximately 1.5 pounds of marijuana located in a duffle bag on the rear seat. Both subjects were taken into custody and booked into the Bossier Parish Maximum Security Facility.
