| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE Colonel Michael D. Edmonson, Superintendent News Release January 19, 2009 Hauling 200 Pounds This morning at about 8:00 AM, a trooper patrolling Webster Parish stopped a commercial motor vehicle and discovered 200 pounds of marijuana concealed in a manufactured compartment. The trooper working on I-20 near Minden stopped the truck to perform a commercial motor vehicle inspection. During the inspection, the driver, 53 year old Randy Warren of Mayville, MI., was unable to establish reliable information about the vehicle and his route. Continuing the inspection of the vehicle the trooper observed signs of a manufactured hidden compartment typically used for transporting contraband. A request to search the vehicle was then made by the trooper to which Mr. Warren consented. Upon searching the vehicle the trooper discovered 200 lbs. of marijuana concealed in the previously identified manufactured compartment. Mr. Warren was arrested and taken to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center where he is held on charges of Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute.
