News Release June 21, 2010 Driver Seriously Injured After Being Ejected from Vehicle
A West Monroe woman was seriously injured after being ejected from her vehicle in a Bossier Parish crash.
Louisiana State Police Troop G Troopers investigated the crash at about 3:00 pm this afternoon. The investigation revealed that a 2002 Isuzu Rodeo was traveling east on Interstate 20 (milepost 27.5) in Bossier Parish when the left rear tire blew out on the vehicle. The driver then lost control of the Isuzu and ran off the right side of the road where the vehicle over-turned.
The driver, identified as 44-year-old Traci Valentine from West Monroe, was ejected from the vehicle during the crash. Valentine was air-lifted to LSU Medical Center with life threatening injuries. Valentine was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
The front seat passenger in the Isuzu, identified as 57-year-old Thomas Allen from West Monroe, was transported to LSU Medical Center with minor injuries.
Alcohol use is not suspected, but routine toxicology tests are pending.
