| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE Colonel Michael D. Edmonson, Superintendent News Release May 25, 2010 Fatal Collision in Webster Parish A three-vehicle crash in Webster Parish resulted in the death of two people. Around 6:00 this evening, Louisiana State Police Troopers responded to the scene of a crash involving three vehicles. The crash occurred when 29 year-old Ryan Durkee of Georgia, was traveling west bound along I-20 just west of Goodwill Road and lost control of his vehicle. Mr. Durkee travelled through the median and stuck an east bound vehicle head-on, causing him to become ejected from his vehicle. Evidence indicates a third vehicle traveling east bound was unable to avoid the initial collision and impacted the vehicle that had been struck in the head-on crash. The front passenger position in the second vehicle was occupied by 33 year-old Xanthia Weatherall of Texas. Mr. Durkee, Mrs. Weatherall, and her unborn child, all died as a result of their injuries sustained in the crash. Although impairment is not suspected to be a factor in this crash, routine toxicology tests are pending.
