Edmonson, Superintendent News Release May 23, 2010 Fatal Collision in Bienville Parish A one-vehicle crash in Bienville Parish resulted in the death of two young men. Around 5:00 this morning, Louisiana State Police Troopers responded to the scene of a crash involving a single vehicle off the roadway. The crash occurred when 18 year-old Joshua Warner of West Monroe, was traveling east bound along I-20 just west of Arcadia and lost control of his vehicle. Evidence on the roadway indicated Mr. Warner lost the ability to control the direction of his 2005 Ford truck due to a sudden and complete failure of the vehicles critical steering components. The vehicle continued off the roadway into the median, overturning and ejecting Mr. Warner and his 20 year-old passenger Shane Johnson of Calhoun. Both unrestrained occupants died as a result of their injuries sustained in the crash. Although impairment is not suspected to be a factor in this crash, routine toxicology tests are pending.
