Edmonson, Superintendent News Release January 11, 2010 55 pounds of Marijuana This morning at approximately 9:45, troopers stopped a 2003 Pontiac Grand Am on I-20 in Bossier Parish for an improper lane usage violation. During the traffic stop, troopers observed the driver and the passenger to be acting in a nervous manner. Both subjects gave troopers conflicting statements regarding the nature of their trip from Greenville, Texas, to Dillon, South Carolina. A computer inquiry revealed the driver had a prior criminal history involving dangerous drugs. Consent to search was granted. A manual search of the vehicle revealed approximately 55 pounds of marijuana concealed in the trunk area. Both subjects were taken into custody without incident and transported to Troop G for further investigation. The charges on both subjects are as follows: 40:966 - Possession of SCH I CDS (Marijuana) with Intent to Distribute; 40:979 - Conspiracy to Distribute SCH I CDS.
